Tournament, Concert, and Merchant Crisis

Story sequence

The festival presents orchestral music, food, engineering, research, and a battle tournament. The program is designed to make foreign guests see Tempest as a civilization with its own culture, not a military camp imitating humans.

Masayuki the Lightspeed Hero arrives with a reputation amplified by his Unique Skill Chosen One, which causes crowds and companions to interpret events in his favor. Rimuru recognizes that Masayuki is less arrogant than the legend around him and avoids a pointless confrontation.

Gobta's unexpected tournament performance, Hakurou's training, and the controlled arena make the contests entertaining without exposing every military secret. The labyrinth's opening creates a new adventurer economy with rules, resurrection protection, and escalating floors.

Merchants influenced by the Rozzo network demand payment in inconvenient forms and try to trigger a public default. Rimuru and Mjollmile use real assets, allied credit, and transparent accounting to pay every obligation, converting the sabotage into proof that Tempest honors contracts.

Motivations

• The Rozzo-aligned merchants want to damage confidence in Tempest before its trade network grows too powerful.
• Rimuru wants guests to choose cooperation because it is profitable and enjoyable, not merely because they fear him.

Outcome
