Story sequence
A doctored message makes Hinata believe Rimuru is challenging her, while Rimuru receives a message suggesting Hinata is bringing an assault force. Hinata actually intends to investigate and, if possible, settle the matter with limited casualties; the Seven Days Clergy want both leaders removed.
Rimuru's commanders engage the Crusaders under controlled conditions while Rimuru duels Hinata. He has prepared against Holy Field and uses Uriel's defenses, Raphael's prediction, and replicated techniques, but Hinata's Melt Slash remains dangerous enough to force a real test.
The duel ends without the hatred assumed by their manipulators. The Seven Days Clergy then attack, revealing that they engineered the confrontation and have been undermining Hinata's authority. Luminous Valentine intervenes openly, exposing that the god worshiped in Lubelius is also its hidden Demon Lord ruler.
Evidence about Shizu, Clayman's network, and the altered messages allows Hinata and Rimuru to compare motives for the first time. Neither becomes subordinate to the other, but they recognize a shared interest in stopping those who weaponize human-monster fear.
