Tempest ArchiveTHE LIVING RECORD

Story sequence

Phobio, a Beastketeer from Demon Lord Carrion's domain, resents being humiliated in Tempest. Tear and Footman exploit that anger, guiding him to the sealed remains of Charybdis and presenting possession as a path to power.

Charybdis revives with Phobio as its core, accompanied by flying Megalodons. The monster's Magic Interference disrupts ordinary spells, while its size, regeneration, and armor make it a disaster-class target. Tempest coordinates aerial units, Kijin commanders, Dwargon's Pegasus Knights, and support from the dryads.

Rimuru concludes that Charybdis is really fixated on Milim because it originated from Veldora's leaked magicules. The combined force damages it but cannot finish the battle efficiently. Milim intervenes and destroys the monster's main body while deliberately sparing the possessed Phobio.

Carrion accepts responsibility for his subordinate and recognizes Tempest as a peer partner. Rimuru identifies the involvement of Clayman's agents, but the full purpose of their repeated experiments remains unclear.

Motivations

  • Phobio wants to recover wounded pride; Clayman's agents need a weapon and data on Milim and Rimuru.
  • Rimuru wants to save Phobio if possible while protecting the population from a calamity.

Outcome

Charybdis is eliminated, Phobio survives, and Tempest demonstrates coalition warfare against a disaster-class enemy.

Consequences

  • Tempest, Dwargon, and Eurazania develop closer ties.
  • Clayman's manipulation becomes a traceable pattern leading toward Walpurgis.
Why this matters later

The battle proves Tempest can coordinate nations, but it also shows how far its forces remain below the oldest Demon Lords.
