Story sequence
Zelanus, progenitor of the insectars, enters the labyrinth with forces that regard Zegion and Apito as stolen descendants. Vega accompanies the invasion with a predatory body capable of incorporating opponents and terrain into unstable mass.
The labyrinth's structure prevents the attackers from reaching Ramiris through a straight advance. Defenders can relocate, recover, and force specialized matchups while Benimaru manages the larger war outside.
Zegion faces Zelanus as both child and rival system. Training from Veldora, Ciel-designed abilities, and absolute concentration let him defeat an ancestor with greater raw history. The victory completes Zegion's rise from a wounded insect sheltered by Rimuru into the labyrinth's supreme guardian.
Vega survives by consuming and mutating, but the same lack of stable self that makes him adaptable also makes every increase harder to control. Diablo and others prevent his escape from becoming a clean strategic victory.
Motivations
- Zelanus wants to reclaim insectar power and prove the supremacy of his lineage.
- Zegion protects Ramiris and the home where weakness was met with care rather than disposal.
- Vega seeks survival and expansion without any larger loyalty.
Outcome
Zelanus is defeated, the deep labyrinth holds, and Vega's uncontrolled growth is pushed toward isolation.
Consequences
- Zegion inherits power and recognition at the highest patron tier.
- The phantom invasion loses one of its strongest external armies.
The labyrinth victory is the payoff to years of quiet growth: Rimuru's mercy toward two small insects becomes a world-saving defense.
