Story sequence
Six ogre survivors attack Rimuru's group because they believe the masked slime may be connected to the masked majin who directed the orcs that destroyed their village. Hakurou's swordsmanship and Benimaru's firepower reveal their strength, but Rimuru ends the misunderstanding without taking revenge.
The ogres have lost their home and want the mastermind behind the orc army. Rimuru offers cooperation for the duration of the crisis. He names them Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, Souei, Hakurou, and Kurobe, causing their evolution into Kijin.
Their abilities naturally map onto state roles: Benimaru commands, Souei gathers intelligence, Hakurou trains warriors, Kurobe forges weapons, Shuna manages culture and magic, and Shion becomes Rimuru's close guard and secretary. Their loyalty grows from shared purpose rather than simple magical compulsion.
Rimuru's decision to treat them as individuals rather than a single warrior race also changes their goal. Revenge remains important, but rebuilding through Tempest becomes a future they can choose.

Outcome
The ogre survivors join Rimuru and evolve into Kijin, becoming Tempest's senior command group.
