Story sequence

Calgurio confronts the responsibility of an officer who led soldiers into a war built on false assumptions. Restoration gives him a future, but not an escape from the need to rebuild institutions and care for veterans.

Mjollmile works on trade, currency, and postwar exchange, showing that Tempest's influence now moves through contracts and logistics as much as through Benimaru's armies.

Rain's perspective on Guy's domain provides a less formal view of primordial politics and the personalities behind world balance. These accounts make clear that the coming Tenma War will involve people with ordinary frustrations inside extraordinary systems.

The interlude also gives political time for the empire, West, Tempest, and Demon Lords to absorb the consequences of Michael's emergence.
