Story sequence
The empire advances with hundreds of thousands of mechanized and magical troops, expecting numerical superiority and anti-monster technology to overwhelm Jura. One major force enters the labyrinth to reach Veldora and capture Tempest's core assets.
Ramiris separates formations across floors, blocks ordinary retreat, and lets guardians fight under ideal conditions. Adalmann's undead forces, Kumara's beasts, Apito's insects, and floor bosses exhaust the invaders before they approach the deepest levels.
Zegion reveals a level of power almost no imperial analyst predicted. His training under Veldora, insectar body, spatial control, and absolute loyalty turn the final floors into a barrier even elite otherworlders cannot casually pass.
Outside, Gabil's aerial units and Benimaru's commanders cut logistics and isolate armored divisions. The empire's technological advantages remain real, but its doctrine assumes a normal battlefield and a population that cannot recover defenders.
Motivations
- Imperial generals seek promotion, conquest, and access to Veldora as a strategic resource.
- The labyrinth guardians want to prove the strength Rimuru allowed them to develop and protect the home that accepted them.
Outcome
The imperial invasion is annihilated as an organized campaign; Tempest captures an enormous number of bodies and souls for possible restoration.
Consequences
- Calgurio and surviving officers confront the gap between imperial propaganda and Tempest's actual power.
- The result forces the imperial elite to intervene directly rather than relying on conventional armies.
The war validates every layer of the labyrinth project and reveals that Tempest's subordinates are national powers in their own right.
