Story sequence
Leon Cromwell's repeated summoning of children is revealed as a desperate search for Chloe, his childhood companion from another world. He became a Hero, then a Demon Lord, while trying to locate the person displaced from his life.
Shizu was one result of that dangerous method. Leon placed Ifrit inside her to keep her alive but did not give her the care or explanation she needed. His action was practical from his perspective and deeply damaging from hers.
Rimuru does not excuse the harm, but the discovery changes his goal from simple revenge to accountability and prevention. Leon is capable of cooperation against greater threats, especially now that Chloe's position is known.
The truth also shows how otherworlder summoning treats people as coordinates or resources. Rimuru's approach—rescuing, stabilizing, and giving displaced people a home—stands as the ethical opposite.
Motivations
- Leon wants to recover Chloe and has accepted increasingly harmful methods because centuries of failure narrowed his judgment.
- Rimuru wants the summoning harm stopped while honoring Shizu's need for answers.
Outcome
Leon becomes a difficult ally rather than Rimuru's final personal enemy.
