Story sequence
Granbell Rosso abandons the family's slow economic strategy after Mariabell's defeat. Once a Chosen Hero, he believes humanity survives only when human champions control its future; Tempest's popularity and Luminous's hidden rule appear to him as dangerous dependence on monsters.
He coordinates attacks on Lubelius, uses surviving political contacts, and exploits Yuuki's faction without fully controlling it. The objective is not merely to defeat Rimuru but to force the West into a crisis that produces a human-centered order.
Hinata and Luminous defend the holy city while Rimuru's side follows the conspiracy to its center. Granbell's skill and experience let him challenge much stronger opponents through timing, holy power, and willingness to spend everything on one final result.
Granbell is ultimately defeated, but his actions damage the seals and protections surrounding the sleeping Chronoa. His personal story ends as a tragic collision between genuine concern for humanity and a refusal to accept cooperation outside his chosen hierarchy.
Motivations
- Granbell wants humanity to stand under human heroes and sees his own harsh control as necessary stewardship.
- Luminous wants to protect her people and the secrets surrounding Chloe without surrendering authority to Granbell.
Outcome
The Rosso political order is broken and Granbell falls, but Chronoa's seal destabilizes.
Consequences
- The West loses its hidden patriarch and becomes more open to Tempest's influence.
- The release of Chronoa forces the characters to confront the repeated timeline that shaped Rimuru's survival.
Granbell is not a simple conqueror; his defeat resolves an old human power system while triggering an even older time paradox.
