Tempest ArchiveTHE LIVING RECORD

Story sequence

Tempest seeks a formal place in the Council of the West, where voting power, defense obligations, and trade policy are shaped. Mariabell Rosso views Rimuru's roads, currency plans, and production capacity as a threat to the family's hidden control of western capital.

Her Unique Skill Greed manipulates desire, letting her pressure council members and operatives whose ambitions give the skill leverage. She attempts to isolate Rimuru politically while provoking attacks that can be blamed on Tempest.

Raphael and Rimuru's unusual mental structure make direct control unreliable. Tempest's allies expose inconsistencies, and the plan moves toward open confrontation. Yuuki appears to cooperate with Mariabell but ultimately takes Greed for himself when her usefulness ends.

Mariabell is defeated, yet the result does not reveal a simple heroic Yuuki. He has removed a rival, acquired a dangerous skill, and preserved his own network while allowing Rimuru to damage the Rozzo system.

Motivations

  • Mariabell wants to preserve a financial order her family believes keeps human society under manageable control.
  • Yuuki wants freedom from every existing power structure and treats temporary alliances as tools.
  • Rimuru wants legal participation in the West and protection for trade partners.

Outcome

Tempest gains influence in the Council; Mariabell falls; Yuuki acquires Greed and remains an unpredictable actor.

Consequences

  • Granbell Rosso moves from indirect economic containment to a final ideological confrontation.
  • The West becomes less able to coordinate secretly against Tempest.
Why this matters later

Rimuru is now contesting systems that ruled through debt, desire, and information rather than armies.
