Tempest ArchiveTHE LIVING RECORD

Story sequence

Rimuru meets adventurers accompanying Shizue Izawa, a Japanese girl summoned during wartime decades earlier. Demon Lord Leon Cromwell placed the fire spirit Ifrit inside her, saving her life while binding her to a power she could not always control.

Shizu spent years as a champion and teacher, but age and weakening control allow Ifrit to break free. Rimuru's heat resistance neutralizes the spirit's main advantage, and Predator isolates Ifrit rather than destroying him. Inside Rimuru, Ifrit encounters Veldora and becomes part of the unusual population in the internal space.

Shizu explains her history, her resentment and questions for Leon, and the students she left behind. When her borrowed strength can no longer sustain her, Rimuru fulfills her wish not to leave a separate body in this world by absorbing her remains without reproducing her memories as his own personality.

Degenerate and Shizu's physical information let Rimuru take a youthful human form. The form resembles Shizu and becomes the face through which humans can relate to him, but the deeper inheritance is responsibility for her students and unresolved link to Leon.

Motivations

  • Shizu wants her life and promises to mean something beyond Ifrit's control.
  • Rimuru feels kinship with another person displaced from Japan and chooses to carry her unfinished obligations.

Outcome

Ifrit is contained, Shizu's life ends peacefully, and Rimuru gains human mimicry plus Degenerate.

Consequences

  • Rimuru later travels to Ingrassia to save Shizu's students.
  • His pursuit of Leon eventually intersects with Chloe, Chronoa, and the hidden time loop.
Why this matters later

Shizu connects the opening adventure to the human world, the Hero chronology, and the final time-crossing resolution.
